Cassidy and her parents are in Paris, and of course, Jacob, her best friend who just happens to be a ghost, is there, too. Filming a paranormal documentary, they visit several places that are said to be haunted. The one that disturbs Cass the most is the Catacombs, a graveyard 5 stories beneath the
Show More
city. She encounters a young ghostly boy, who turns out to be a poltergeist and is bent on causing havoc, and who is becoming stronger every day. She - and Jacob - must defeat him, and send him on. Thus begins another adventure for these two young people. The tale is an enticing one, as the friendship between human and ghost deepens. Readers learn more of Jacob’s backstory, and Cass begins to further her own knowledge of what it means to be a ghost hunter. This series is an excellent one for upper elementary school kids. It illustrates a strong family structure, caring bonds of friendship, and delightful settings in various world cities, as the Cass and Jacob travel not only in a real world but also in a fanciful one.

Another entertaining read in the Cassidy Blake series; book number 2 doesn’t disappoint. I adore this series and can’t wait for the next book to come out!

Cassidy Blake, and her ghost friend Jacob, find themselves in Paris this time around, where Cassidy’s parents are filming a tv show. Paris
Show More
doesn’t seem as haunted as Scotland that is until Cassidy goes to the Catacombs that lay beneath the city. Down in the Catacombs, Cassidy awakens a ghost spirit that grows stronger the longer it’s out.

Wow.... the second book in the series was great! What a story! This time Cass is in Paris with her parents continuing with the ghost book tour. As you know, it can't be all sunshine and roses for Cassidy. She unearths a poltergeist that seems to thrive on mischief and mayhem. Will she be able to
Show More
stop it? Also we find out more about Jacob's past and are introduced to a few more new characters... especially the one at the end! Creepy doesn't even begin to describe it... shudders. Loved it from beginning to end and looking forward to when the next book comes out.

Series Info: This is the second book in the Cassidy Blake series. I got this book from the library.

Characters (4/5): I continue to really enjoy Cass and Jacob. They are funny and interesting. It’s been fun to watch Jacob get stronger and see Cass grow into her own powers.

Story (4/5): This story
Show More
follows the same format as the first, it’s fairly predictable but still a fun read. There is a ghostly mystery for Cass and Jacob to solve while Cass’s parents are filming. This time it was a poltergeist kid. I love how Cass is making new friends and acquaintances at each location she visits. The story never gets too creepy or scary but does have a nice eerie vibe to it.

Setting (5/5): I really love these international settings there are very fun. I especially like learning about all of these ghostly and creepy attractions at these locations. This time they were in Paris, France.

Writing Style (4/5): Schwab’s writing style is easy to read and engaging.

Summary (4/5): Overall this was a quick and fun read for me. I love the settings, the eerie stories and the fun characters. I would recommend to those who enjoy eerie ghost mysteries and/or international locations.

In this second book, we follow Cassidy and her ghost best friend forever Jacob to Paris and into the Paris Catacombs. Cassidy is a great heroine. She is strong, smart, compassionate, and brave. I love Cassidy's ghost friend Jacob and their friendship. I love how Jacob is more careful and tries to
Show More
be the voice of reason when Cassidy's Griffindor spirit decides to do anything reckless. Even if he sometimes fails he never lets her go alone. They have their own code and rules. They are so cute together. I loved watching Cassidy embrace being a ghost hunter in this book and really finding her prepose in it. I loved all the spooky moments. I loved learning about the history and hauntings of Paris. I just loved this book. If you love ghosts, great friendships, and spooky settings I highly recommend this book. Victoria Schwab is a genius writer. Her stories, her characters, her settings, her worlds, I can never get enough. I am so hyped to see what city Cassidy's adventures take her to next.

Tunnel of Bones is book 2 of the City of Ghosts series, which was a Lone Star novel.

Cassidy's family visit Paris for the next installment of their TV show about ghosts. It's interesting that Cassidy doesn't tell her parents that she can go behind the veil and visit the world of ghosts. Her father
Show More
believes in history and presents a non-supernatural explanation to the phenomenon while her mother wants to believe in the supernatural. Paris's famous catacombs become stop number one to film, and it's here that Cassidy meets her challenge.

In the catacombs, Cassidy finds a ghost unlike any she has encountered. What she learned in Scotland won't work with this ghost. He's getting stronger and affecting everyone in Paris. If she can't get him to disappear, Paris will suffer. She gets help from Jacob and Lara as well as a friendly Parisian.

I always hate to say much about sequels, but it you liked the first book, you'll like this book as well.

Number 2 in the Cassidy Blake juvenile fiction series by one of my favorite authors, Victoria Schwab. Cassidy and her best friend (and ghost), Jacob, are on another ghostly adventure quest. They accompany Cassidy's parents to Paris to film an installment of her parents TV show and in addition to

enjoying the sights, Cassidy must once again use her ghost reaping skills to save the day.

It was ok... I am glad Jacob has a good role to play in this book as well. But the ending was too abrupt & underwhelming. The story was fine as you would expect from a middle grade novel. I liked the first one better than this. I still will read the next book in the series because I am just so
Show More
invested in Jacob & what happens to him.

Tunnel of Bones
(Cassidy Blake #2)
by Victoria Schwab
This time Cassidy's parents are going to Paris to shoot their ghost hunting show. Little do they know that their daughter sees and talks to ghosts and that Jacob is around them a lot and he is definitely a ghost. While in Paris, Cass and Jacob find
Show More
ghostly trouble on their own or it finds them! A poltergeist decides to follow them and cause trouble. But it doesn't want to stop at trouble, it wants to harm or worse! Definitely a good and suspenseful read! Made for middle grade, and adults that like good stories too!

2nd in the Cassidy Blake series. This one has Cassidy and her family in Paris. The first place they visit while there is the catacombs Cassidy manages to awaken a poltergeist while there who is soon reeking havoc on all of Paris.

I love this world but didn't enjoy this book as much as the first one. The conflict wasn't as interesting or at least not as developed but seemed more akin to a classic ghost story than the first book. I realise that this was written for children rather than a middle-aged adult like me but I felt
Show More
Schwab dumbed down Cassidy too much. She's 12 and in modern times, not an infant. A pre-teen in 2019 is going to know basically what a crepe is. I also worry that her parents aren't really providing any sort of education since she knew absolutely nothing about Paris and some of the things she wondered about seemed... worrying. Still, these are fun books and I love ghost stories. I would love a book focusing on Jacob or his backstory since we still don't know anything about it besides he drowned and he's not willing to share with Cassidy.
