I liked this series; in fact I would recommend it to younger readers. I was easily caught up in Darren Shan’s fight against the Vampeneze and an inevitable future. The books are short, so you can grab one and read it in a few hours, in-between more serious books.
There were a few things that I

didn’t like though. The first thing was that while some passage of the books seemed a bit frightening and gore for young readers (I have in mind a specific passage at the end of Book II in which Darren was to drink blood from his dying friend who by the way has his guts hanging out because of the Wolf Man!), the way it was written would annoy an older readership if they didn’t bare in mind that this wasn’t meant for them. Well, that’s what it did for me. I didn’t like the fact that it was written in the first person though it was necessary to the story line (but you only find that out in the last pages), because the characterization just wasn’t good enough. In the end, Darren is just an ordinary boy and I can’t think of any adjectives to describe him even after reading twelve books about him! I mean that beside his extraordinary destiny, the character appeared very flat to me. Perhaps that was done on purpose, to make it easier for kids to relate to the character… but I found it hard to do that. There were some things in the world the author created which weren’t credible either… I’m thinking about horrible monsters ready to bust into our world if Evanna, her brother or Mr. Tiny trespassed specific laws. I didn’t like a few of the revelations that happened in the last book either though they perfectly explained what had happened in the previous books. Still, the series ended well though a bit sad and I would’ve liked to know what had happened to the other characters beside Darren.

A great book of the destiny of a young boy, who becomes a vampire and must face death wether he lives or dies.

12th book of the Cirque Du Freak series about a half prince on the journey to destroy the vampeneze. A horrible out cast of once vampires.

Ever wonder what your destiny was? Well, a boy, who is right now a man has wondered that and had been told what it was. His name is Darren Shan. He's half-vampire who is turning slowly into a full vampire with the purge. Darren has been told his destiny years ago by Mr. Tiny; he's a man of the

future and has unbelievably strong powers to control time, man-kind, everyone's destiny and destroy the world. Darren's destiny was to either kill the Lord of the Vampaneze or to be killed by the Lord, and later in the future, one will become Lord of the Shadows and shall rule the world with Mr. Tiny; therefore, all of man-kind will be destroyed. One thing for sure, Darren will not back down. Not when the Lord of the Vampaneze was his best friend Steve Leonard who is now his archenemy. Mr. Tiny has carefully planned out their desstiny since birth, and it won't fail him easily. At least not yet anyways......
This book by Darren Shan, Sons of destiny, filled my head as I was reading through it with joy, wonder, sadness, love and hatred. I loved Sons of destiny in particular out of every other books in the series because it reveals the theme in this book. The theme: you can change and control your own destiny, and nobody else can stop you. In this book, Darren had trying to search for Steve to carry out his destiny as Mr. Tiny told him to, but Darren didn't like his destiny; thus, he tried to change it. He's thought of many ways, but none of them worked. In the end, Darren kills Steve, but not entirely; he has left strength in Steve so that Steve can kill him as well. Finally, Steve kills Darren and dies himself. By sacrificing himself, Darren has changed his destiny that Mr. Tiny had planned for him. Desmond Tiny couldn't stop it. I think the theme is not just a theme in only this book, but as well for the whole series.
I loved the whole series! They were the best books I've read in my whole life, and I don't plan on forgetting them in a while. I would suggest this book to everyone out there who LOVES vampire stories and those who love twists and turns. Darren Shan the Sons of Destiny: best book ever.

I would tell them that it had a lot of action. That it has some humor, but you have to read the first eleven in the series. I selected this book because I really like books that have vampires in it and because it has a lot of action in it. Q4P4 AHS/Conner F.

The time has come for Darren Shan to face the final showdown against his arch-enemy Steve Leopard. Dead if he loses, damned if he wins! As they fight to the death, the victor will go on to become the Lord of the Shadows, destined to destroy the world. It's looking like death may be the best of two

evils... unless Darren can figure out a way to trick destiny.

This is the final book in the The Saga of Darren Shan, aka the Cirque Du Freak series. This has definitely been one of the better vampire series I've read. Though written for young readers, the action is nonstop and all the books have drawn me in and glued me to their pages long into the night. Like its predecessors, this final book in the series does not disappoint, and wraps the series up quite nicely with a surprise ending you won't see coming! Definitely recommend this series for all lovers of vampire fiction.

The climax of this book was very powerful. What I loved about it was that it really could have gone either way and I was on the edge of my seat to find out what happens next. This is the kind of book that you have to read in one sitting because there's no way you're putting it down. As amazing as

part one was, I think I enjoyed part the most. Endings can make good stories bad and vice versa. This one made a great story awesome! I applaud the author for the thoughtful and rewarding way that he wrapped up this saga. Great book!! Great series!!!
