Great colors and attention to detail enhance this story about a cat looking for something new for lunch. Great read-aloud.

I thought this was a very cute book. I liked how on every page the animals and plants were labled. I also liked how the sounds that the animals made was on the illustration too. This is a good way to teach children about differemt plants and animals.

This book was about a cat who was trying to catch a bird, but everytime he went after it, the bird would fly away. This book would be good to read to a class because it has all of the different kinds of birds and pictures of them. Every page has a different bird on it and it has what kind of bird

it is so the kids will be able to identify them.

I liked this book. It is about different North American Birds. There is wonderful vocabulary in the book and in the end of the book there is a fact sheet of all the birds in the book. This is something students will enjoy.

This is a wonderful little book for children to learn some common American birds and their calls. The story is about a cat trying to catch a bird for lunch but the bell on the collar keeps giving him away, hence "feathers for lunch" but the illustrations are almost all birds such as the Northern

This is a great book. Very appropriate for lessons about birds. This book contains several words that would be good vocabulary words.

The book is about a cat that got out of the house and is looking for some lunch. He wants something different and tries eating a variety of different birds but

because birds have wings and can soar they all get away and all the cat gets for lunch are feathers.

There is a bird guide at the end of the book.

While the cat is out looking for lunch he spots a bunch of birds in the garden that he could eat. The problem is that the cat cant reach any of the birds so all she can have for lunch are the feathers.

Adorable book that taught me a lot about birds that a cat with a bell collar can't catch! Good for vocabulary and animal knowledge,.

A housecat gets into the garden and tries to snag a bird for a snack, but all the ones in the yard hear the jingle of the bell on his collar before he can get any.

This is a short and simple book, perfect for beginning readers to read the main text on their own. The rhyming text works quite nicely

for the basic plot. What I really love is how Ehlert depicts the animals realistically enough to be easily recognized and includes captions noting each type of bird and plant seen. A concluding section includes factual information about each kind of bird in the story.
