had some inspiring words, and I bought her book at the 'meet the author' night. Thrilled that I had the opportunity, she signed it for me.

Now that I've grown and my tastes have changed (not that I had a passion for the book when I was younger), I don't enjoy reading the book as much.

The Brocaded Slipper is a collection of short stories. Each story is a Vietnamese version of Grimm's fairytales, gruesome endings and all. If you enjoyed reading Grimm's accounts of how Cinderella met her demise, then by all means try it out.
