i've said before, we love flat stanley and his adventures. Great read, funny and good easy reader!

Stanley and his brother discover a lamp and inside is a genie. They rub the lamp not knowing the genie is inside and appears a genie that grants them wishes. Read to see what wishes Stanley and Arthur wish for and the adventures they encounter.

W received this as part of a goody bag from a friend's birthday party, and we read it aloud together. The wishes make for an episodic book, a series of separate mini-adventures with a predictable morality-tale ending. I see it as an example of the recurrent myth, or looking at culture from an

anthropological perspective: trite perhaps, but a worthy message for a society to preserve.

Stanley is no longer flat, which is perhaps the most disappointing aspect of the book. Unclear how much that's marketing, or a means for Brown to allow his characters to grow.

Stanley and his brother find a magic lamp and innocent fun happens with the whole Lambchop family getting in on the action. A sweet story of expectation and what really makes someone happy.
