I read this book when I was 13 and it was one of the best books ever! This is about a boy named Newton who moves to a place called Angel Falls where he meets and befriends a girl named Vanessa. Vanessa is an expert about butterflies and is especially fascinated with a certain kind of butterfly.

Then there seems to be an outbreak of "illness" with all of the kids in Angel Falls--except for Newton. There are lots of surprises that Newton encounters as he and Vanessa work to cure the kids at Angel Falls (including Vanessa herself). It's a must-read! Show Less

Is fairly typical book aimed at elementary school kids - we get a a fairly simple plot, fairly standard characters, a bit of learning and of course, a mystery. I suspect I would have loved this book in 5th grade, as an adult, it fell a bit flat. This would be a good book for kids who are too young

This is such a wonderful children's book. I love the message in it - how books can help us fly. Had I read this as an elementary or middle schooler, I know it would've been a favorite of mine.
