Personal Reaction: Yet another book from my childhood, I always thought it to be really fun. The pictures are great and really work well with the setting of the story.

1. Have children bring photographs of their pets to show and share with everyone.

2. Let the students draw pictures of any kind of animal they might want as a pet; any kind of animal at all. Then display the drawings on the wall.

What I liked best about this book was that Archie was nice to an old person.

This is a story about a little boy who wants to enter a neighborhood cat in a pet show. The cat disapears and can't be found the day of the show. It turns out that another lady won the show with that cat.
