This is a good castaway story about a family. Even if you've not read this book I'm sure you've seen one of the many theatrical versions, so you know the story. Its a good story and if you want to read a classic a good choice. The story is a little dated, however, and move rather slow.

This is the story of a family who is shipwrecked on a deserted island. It is a classic that I think students should read. It is well-written and exciting and it teaches students the importance of family/friends and that you can survive without many of our modern conveniences.
