A fun read: What if Superman's pod crashed in the UK instead of the US? Apparently his name would be Colin Clark, and being a superhero would be bothersome and embarrassing for his proper British family.

This is a great "What if?" graphic novel. What if Superman's Krypton rocket ship crash-landed in a small English town? How would being brought up British change Superman? John Cleese injects British wit into the classic Superman legend.

A cute Superman what-if that explores the possibility of a British Supe. While funny (the appearance of "the Bat-man!" had me, literally, laughing out loud), it lacks meat. I think I would have liked the authors to explore the subject with a little more earnestness, though I'm not quite sure what I

would expect from a comic co-authored by John Cleese. The Rutles are in it, though. Yay, the Rutles!

Summary:
This book was a good idea. It was about what would have happened if Superman landed in Britain instead of landing in America. How the story would be different.
Personal Reaction:
I liked it but i wasn't jumping up and down. It was a good thought but superman is American.

Summary: This is a interesting story about superman and what it would be like if superman arrived in Britain instead of America.

Personal reaction: I liked this book because it showed a different point of view that I never would of thought about superman.

Extensions: This book could be used to

This Graphic Novel is a comic book about superman. However in stead of landing in American he lands in Britain. This story was ok compared to the traditional superman. The story shows the troubles he has to go through in Britain with his family and friends.

I did not really like this story compared
Show More
to the traditional.
In the classroom you could have students write about their favorite superhero. Also you could make their own comic book.

As superhero "reboots" (revising origin stories) go, this one is onto a winner by abandoning all pretence of taking itself seriously and going for self-deprecating humour instead.
