because last year, at Jamaica, the girls accidentally killed a girl who they thought was their dead best friend's twin that was going to kill them. Emily Fields does almost exactly what she does in Book 10. Emily falls for a girl named "Jordan" that turns out to be a stowaway. "Jordan" claims she snuck on the boat because her parents couldn't afford it. Later, Emily finds out she's really Katherine DeLong and escaped from jail the morning the boat set sail. Emily refuses to let go, and agrees to go with her to Thailand. But, Katherine gets caught by the FBI and jumps overboard to escape. In Book 10, Emily falls for a girl that calls herself "K" and finds out her real name is Kelsey Pierce. She was a drug addict, but Emily refuses to let her go. After Kelsey almost pushes Emily off a cliff and goes into drug overdose, she gets sent to rehab. I don't like Emily's character because she never learns from her mistakes. But, it really is Sara Shepard's fault for not coming out with new storylines. Aria signs up for an eco scavenger hunt and gets paired with Graham Pratt, who she finds out is Tabitha's old boyfriend. Sara Shepard was trying to get us to believe he is "A", but she does that in every book. So, I didn't think he was "A". He wasn't "A", but finds out that Aria pushed Tabitha off the cliff. Hanna's storyline was interesting because we finally get to find out about the car crash that was alluded to in Books 9-11. Hanna was driving a drunk girl named Madison home, but crashes into a tree. She and the other girls moved Madison to the driver's seat and leave her there. On the cruise, Hanna is sharing a room with Naomi Zeigler, who turns out to be Madison's cousin. Hanna reads on email conversation between Naomi and Madison and Madison says that she's going to find out who they are. Hanna believes that "they" means her and her friends. She later finds out that Naomi had no clue Hanna was driving her home and moved her. Lately, the books have been like: the liars think someone is "A". They get more info that someone is "A". Later they get more info that the person they are suspecting is "A" isn't "A" because they couldn't have been there. Spencer's storyline was pretty much pointless. She tries to get a boy who Naomi also likes. Naomi plays some childish pranks and Spencer gets the guy. At the end of the book, there is another fire. Like at the end of Book 6 and end of Book 8. Sara Shepard needs to find a new way for "A" to try to kill the liars. The fire thing is getting kind of boring, but I should've figured it out from the title "Burned". The reason I was so excited to read "Burned" was because I thought Sara Shepard was ending the series and all mysteries would be solved, but apparently there is Book 13, "Crushed" while means she'll probably drag it out to Book 16. From Book 9-12 there hasn't been any character development. They are all exactly how we left them at the end of Book 8 even though it's supposed to be a year later. . The only secret Aria is still keeping is the mysterious thing that happened in Iceland that has been alluded to since Book 9 and I've been getting really sick of hearing "the thing that happened in Iceland" for the past four books. When I saw her on the cover of this one, I kind of hoped we would figure out what is was. The only good thing about this book was the huge twist at the end. We find out the girls didn't kill Tabitha because she was killed from a close proximity. "A" killed Tabitha, and now Spencer, Emily, and Hanna have no secrets. I feel like this series has dragged on for too long, but I'll probably still read the rest of the books, even though all of them are probably going to be fillers until the last book. I thought she just should have ended this series with Book 8, because there was a conclusion, but some of it wasn't completely clear so it left a little to the imagination. 9-12 really haven't been realistic, especially this one. It's really hard to believe no one would see someone on America's Most Wanted sneak onto a cruise ship. And why would Emily refuse to let her go, obviously she's dangerous if she escaped from jail. The girls are just getting dumber and dumber in my opinion. Show Less

different character names and a different setting. The girls haven't changed since Book 8, actually have gotten more and more immature, and there is a nine month gap from Book 8 to Book 9. You would've thought that the girls would've have stopped being so naive and making the exact same mistakes for the fifth or sixth time. I also think that from after Book 8, the books have gotten more and more unrealistic. An eco cruise for a school trip? Really? I really feel like Sara has been running out of ideas. I'm not sure why I read the book when I saw the title "Burned". I figured there was probably another fire, and I was right. It was the third fire in twelve books. There was a fire in Book 6, Book 8, and now in Book 12. This plot moved slowly and I didn't really find the ending that shocking. The book has been using the same "formula" as the three predecessors. The thing I kind of enjoyed about this book was that we actually saw characters that haven't seen since Book 8. It's like Sara finally remembered her original cast and decided to use them instead of throwing a bunch of new characters at us every book. Well, she did throw a bunch of new characters, but also decided to use the old ones a bit. Naomi actually said more than three lines for the first time since Book 8! We saw Kirsten again, and she said her first line since Book 5, I think. The thing I miss about Books 1-8 is the story arc. Now, each book is pretty separate and it makes the storylines choppy and Sara's new characters disappear right after the book ends. Zach disappeared after Book 9, Mr. Pennythistle after Book 10, Chloe after Book 9, Kelsey after Book 10, Patrick after Book 9, and Ezra after Book 10. I thought Reefer would be gone after Book 10, but it was a nice surprise when we saw him again. I wonder if Sara has forgotten about all of the new characters she introduces in every book. Show Less

development and more loose threads than answers. Its so disappointing that what began as an enjoyable read has become but a shadow of its former self. Two stars, Not horrible but definitely not up to the standard set early in the series. Show Less

And what about Graham? Sure, he did seem psycho but I think he knew who was watching Aria and her friends and he was trying to warn her, albeit in a very fatal attraction way, and A realized this and shut him up by putting him in a coma.
Also, will Emily be reunited with her true fugitive love? Honestly, I wasn't feeling Issac?
