This book is an informational book meant to give children an introduction into prehistoric times. It talks about certain dinosaurs and even explains why some have the name that they do. Like the Triceratops which mean three horns. It also tells the reader about museums and the name of the people

who study fossils. It gives some ideas about the size of dinosaurs and how long ago they lived. It also names some of the few that did survive the mass extinction and are still on earth today.

This book was fun to read to my child. He is like most other boys and loves dinosaurs. I will continue to read this book to him, as he grows older so that he will have a good understanding about prehistoric dinosaurs.

In the classroom, I would read this book to the children and have a worksheet over it after I have read it to them. Another assignment would be to read this book and have the students go to the library or on the internet and have, each child find one dinosaur that they like and write a short summary about it.
