I love Eric Carle. His artwork is my favorite. I saw this book at Marshalls and I had to buy it. It's a puffy book, so it's easy for preschoolers to use.

In this ABC book, simple, yet affective, with folds outs for the child to explore with, Eric Carle counts with the children. A is for Ants, B is for BIrd, C is for Crocodile, D is for Dog, E is for Eagle, F is for Frog, G is for Gull, H is for Horse, I is for Iguana, J is for Jaguar, K is for

Kangaroo, L is for Lizard, M is for Mouse, N is for Narwhal, O is for Owl, P is or Penguin, Q is for Quetzal, R is for Rhino, S is for snail, T is for Tiger, U is for Unicorn, V is for Vulture, W is for Walrus, X is for Xolo, Y is for Yak, Z is for Zebra. The book offers simple illustrations, and for a young child is a great way to place emphasis on a letter with the names of particular animals.

This is a great book for teaching children their ABC's. Each letter is represented by an animal that starts with that letter. It is interactive because of the page fold outs. I would use this for children just starting to learn their ABC's.

Eric Carle has such a way with his childrens book. This book has letters and pictures of animals on each page. It is very durable and can be used with very young children for that reason. 18 months through kindergarten would be benefit from this book. Young children will enjoy it for its bright

I read this book with my two year old nephew once and it was amazing what he absorbed from that one reading. The colors are so vibrant and just draws the attention of even the most inattentive child (like my nephew). Eric Carle doesn't use the traditional animals for some of the letters either and

it introduces new animals to children.

This book, much like many other alphabet books, is great for very young children to absorb the pictures and attach those things to the letters they are learning. This helps them with memorization, and provides them with a fun learning experience!

young readers to learn Alphabets and words fro animals too.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1.In the classroom we could have each child make their own Eric Carle style ABC book.
2.We can also act out the animals on each page as we read the story.

It only has sixteen pages, but each of those pages can be unfolded to reveal full-page flaps that contain images of Carleā€™s beloved animals. I could use in the classroom with my K/1 ELL students for our Ecology units where we use animals to practice language objectives.

Nice picture book but not consistent as an alphabet book to leach the letters and theirs sounds. Switches between long and short vowel sounds which can be confusing to young children learning the letters and corresponding sounds.
