This is one of my favorite books from my childhood. I got the book as a present one summer when I was nine years old. The story was very entertaining for me at the time.

Pippi is a brave girl who always says what is on her mind. She isn’t afraid to confront older people with her opinion. She is special in other ways, too. Pippi is supernaturally strong. She can fight against mean and dangerous people. She doesn’t go to school but has a quick mind. She is playful, imaginative and energetic. Pippi Longstocking is a synonym for independence and freedom. She is a child who lives alone with pets in her Vila. Siblings Tommi and Annica are her neighbors and best friends. She is very kind, cheerful and protective towards them.
The real adventure starts when Pippi's father, the king of a small island in the South Seas, takes the children with him on an unforgettable trip.

This time Pippi really does leave for her father's island, and takes Annika and Tommy with her. It's fun and cute and Pippi does all the things children wish they could do. As a child, I didn't know that there were sequels to the original book, but I'm happy to see that there are.

My kids love Pippi. They love how she does all the things they aren't supposed to do, she's a kind of transgressive fantasy. But she does it all with such a good heart; this little smart-alack is motivated by love, confidence, and a tremendous sense of humor. If you are looking for A girl role
