This is a good example of realistic fiction because it accurately depicts the thoughts and feelings of a third grader. The main character (A.J.) was well developed and was easy to understand because a reader would always be able to read his reactions to different situations that take place in the

book. However I did not appreciate the way that his character was portrayed. Some of the things that A.J. said were rude and demeaning to others. He had a hatred toward school and girls. There were specific examples in the book that encouraged bad behavior both at home and at school.Level: Primary
