This was a gift from a friend in Iceland. It is a story of the first peoples of Iceland and the way they lived. Presented in graphic novel form, the story plays out over two generations and deals mostly with their movement across the land. The author, who also did the illustrations, had

collaboration from two archaeologists in the details of the lifestyles and habits of the peoples. The drama and humor of the family in this story is nicely done and I found myself pulled into their world. The language can seem choppy, but I'm betting that is due to the fact that it is a translation, as well as cultural differences. It seems appropriate and not a problem. The illustrations are lovely. I think the faces of the people are especially good.
