This is a cute Halloween story that I think would be ideal for second or third graders. It has quite a bit of text in it, but I think it would be a good indepedent read for this age group. It's a story about this chimpanzee who has a hard time to figure out what to be for Halloween for school. He

is having difficulty throughout the book trying to make his costume very scary and orginal so that people know what he is. At the end he didn't think that his costume was going to be scary enough but he actually ends up winning the most orginal costume for the school. I wouldn't do a read aloud with this book because it is like a chapter book and is a little lengthy, but like I said earlier I think it would be a great individual read for second or third graders.
