This is a in between book which as Dan Millman suggests would be read half way through the first book. Millman states that one should understand that this story takes place, not after but within the peaceful warrior (you could read way of the peaceful warrior to page 184 and then read scared

journey in its entirety!). I did feel a bit gutted when i read that as i thought that i had spent time reading the first book to be informed that the second slots in about half away from the first! Anyhow this is a decent book, However i dont think it has left a finger print like the first.
The basic story is that after training with Socrates who is his mentor Millman is sent away to apply what he has learnt. He prepares to meet a mysterious woman in Hawaii whom he will meet when the time is right for his to do so. She is his gateway to all his hopes and fears and the only one who can prepare him for the whatever comes next. In esscence this book reminds you of how scared everyday life is, that each day is a journey from which we can learn so much. Life is an adventure, embrace it and learn from it as each step is essentially a learn curve.

This book was far better than the first, it was perhaps because like Dan, I too have felt an outsider all my life, like I did not belong anywhere, searching for something, and as my journey has progressed I have felt like he did, and in a different way exprienced my own awakening. Very

inpirational, I feel this book could offer hope to those who have nearly given up their quest for Oneness.

Loved this book. A lot of insightful gems in here. If you are new to spiritual topics then this is a good beginner's book. If you are an advanced student then there might not be too much here you haven't already heard somewhere else. In any case, it's a short read. Maybe a day or two.

This series is listened to intently by my autistic son, and his behavior has improved since beginning the series. Millman portrays himself as not necessarily the quickest learner, and the reader may notice that he doesn't always remember his insights of being aware, living in the moment, seeing the

good in others. He is someone who puts a lot of determination into following through with his commitment.
In this book, he travels to Hawaii to find a teacher Socrates has hinted at. By 'coincidence' (are there really any coincidences in life?) he almost dies. He learns to find joy in being of service, he makes a leap to get in touch with his Higher Self, and he experiences signs of the continuation of life after death.
