Description
In 1998, the governments of Canada, British Columbia, and the Nisga'a Nation signed the Nisga'a Final Agreement, the first treaty in British Columbia in over 100 years. The treaty recognizes Nisga'a lands and contains self-government provisions. This annual report reviews the implementation of the treaty during the year in such activity areas as legislation, local government, land ownership, fishery & wildlife management, forest management, tourism development, voter registration, health care, social services, education, justice, highways, and culture.
