The text is in three languages: English, Samoan, and Tongan. A gentle introduction to the life cycle and the knowledge that every living thing has an ending, with a lifetime of living. A highly recommended book. There are other editions available which are not multilingual.

Lovely art by Ingpen. Written in very simple language for young children I would say maybe 3-7. Yet I would give this to any grieving person of any age.
The soothing repetition of there is a beginning and an end and in between is life ... beautifully illustrated for various plants and animals...

helps one gently accept that this is true for people we love too.

This book is simple but it describes the death of things (animals, plants, and people) as a part of life. It’s a good conversation starter for very young ones.

This book talks about how there is a beginning, ending of everything that's alive and in between that is living. Such as the lifetime for plants, people, birds, fish, trees and animals.

This beautiful book uses simplicity to guide children through the beginning, end, and lifetime in between that every living thing faces. By using a wide variety of living things from trees, to rabbits, to the tiniest insects, and at last to humans, we are reminded that every one of us has a

This book discussed what is life for all living creatures. It states the information in a non-emotional and factual way, that for all creatures there is a beginning and there will be an end. It describes the life and death of plants, animals and humans.
