Although I marked interest level at k, I can't see kids interested in the sappy quality of this book - more geared to adults in its sentimental tone than to young readers.

This book is about the relationship between a parent and their child. The parent tells the child all the things they will grow up to be and would be wonderful for a parent and a child to read together. This would be great for children under first grade.

It's a sweet and simple rhyming story. Parents wonder about who their children will be when they grow up. They know they will grow up to be something wonderful. GENRE: fiction. MEDIA: acrylics. USES: to teach kids they can be anything when they grow up, show the love of a parent.

This book started out sweetly ("When you were too small / To tell me hello, / I knew you were someone / I wanted to know.") and the illustrations have an old-fashioned, precious, "Little Golden Book" feel. Then, however, it moved into the abstract ("When nights are black and / When days are gray—

/ You'll be brave and be bright / So no shadows can stay.") And the end has the children represented as characters in a play, saying, "And become anybody / That you'd like to be." What? Is the child going to grow up to be a tree or a wolf or a pencil or a crocodile? If it had stayed true to the delightful beginning, it would have been a stronger (in my opinion) story.

Lovely rhyme.

Sweet, sentimental and touching. Don't we all gaze upon our kids and look forward to seeing how they grow into themselves and what they will become, not only in occupation but their attributes like kindness, bravery, helpful.

This book was a great book that is written in a parents perspective of knowing that their child will be wonderful when they grow up. This a great book for parents to read to their children at bedtime. The book has a lot of rhyming and it would be a great book to introduce rhyming to them.

The Wonderful Things You Will Be is a charming picture book that can inspire many. Teachers can use this book as a read aloud to encourage students that they can be anything they want to be. It is perfect for young readers because of its rhyming nature.

I think this book is very important because it is teaching children that they can be anything they want to be. This is important, children need to understand that they can do whatever they want. To reach for their dreams

Young Emily Winfield Martin, has already paved a way into an incredible artist of children's illustrated book. This book is a #1 New York Time Bestseller.

As the article notes, this is a story of a child with limitless possibilities. As the mother walks with her daughter she tells her the wonderment

of what she may be. Asking, "Will you sand up for good by saving the day?" or Will you tell a story only you can know?" or " Will you know what it means to grow things?"
At the end of the story, the little girl is told she will be loved Whoever she grows up to be!

This is such a heartwarming story, filled with beautiful illustrations, that I chose, after reading it and purchasing it at Barnes and Nobel in 2016, that this is one worth reading again and again.

Absolutely delight! A precious, sweet book that my little just eats up. It's pastel colors and rhythmic verses makes this an excellent sleepy time option.

Two pages towards the middle have a repetitive feel that I'm not a fan of but that's my one and only complaint.
