Do Princesses Wear Hiking Boots is a book about a little girl who who asks her mom lots of questions about what princesses do. Do they follow the rules, snore, and eat vegetables along with many other questions, and of course if they wear hiking boots. Her mom answers each question with a clever

remark! At the end of the book is a mirror to look into to see the princess reading the book.

I think this is an adorable book that explains that whatever you do, is exactly what princesses do! It emphasizes that every little girl is a princess! it shoes children that it's okay to be unique, because they will still be a princess. It's a great book to read to children who are self conscience of themselves.

In the classroom, I would include the boys as princes. I would let the children make paper hats and decorate them describing the many roles they play. I would then pass our mirrors and let them put on each paper hat in front of the mirror to explain that they are a prince/princess in every role of their life!

I believe this book would be good for kindergarteners. There is only one sentence on each page, so that would be appropriate for them. First graders would enjoy this book as well, especially the suprise at the end!

Yes, princesses do wear hiking boots, and climb like monkeys, etc., etc. Yeah, this book is useful to help make the princess craze (thanks, Disney, you *ssh*l*s) less limiting to kids. So if your kid is already into princesses and you need to expand rather vision of princesses, so the kid doesn't

limit herself, then this book will be helpful. But if your kid has, somehow, yet escaped the princess BS, then stay away! Because this book will only contribute to the princess-ification of children's lives.

I adored this book because of the illustrations and its overall message. In every illustration of the little girl she is wearing a crown of daisy flowers, depicting that no matter what she likes to do (within reason, of course) she’s still a princess. This books overall message is that every

little girl is a princess. She doesn’t need to meet the stereotype of what a princess is supposed to be. She can be herself and still be a princess. I especially like the last page with a mirror stating. “Look inside yourself and see a princess is a place in your heart”.
