The Boss Baby is about a baby who wears a little suit. He orders his parents around, under the guise of calling 'meetings'. Eventually his parents get too tired to move, and he has to say Mama and Papa to get them to get up again.
This book is written with big words and colorful pictures. The images
Show More
of the baby are humorous because he does look quite like a CEO. The book does not have a big plot, instead the book is focused on the humor of a baby as a boss.
I think very small children would not see the humor in this, but older young children would find this hilarious.

Loved the humor i this simple book of a baby who learns to speak his first words while running his poor parents ragged.

This book is a spoof on the life of new parents and the demands of a new baby and how that new baby can actually seem like a boss demanding extreme things at a moments notice and all hours of the night.

This was quite the funny book about a baby executive. The baby is definitely the boss in his house, from ordered diaper changes to feedings, he has has parents running to meet his each and every need. Dressed in his suit and tie onesie, he is the boss of his house!

This cute story tells about a young, corporate, bossy baby boy, that seems to have a way with getting what he wants. Frazee displays comic art through her book with pencil and watercolor illustrations.

From the moment he arrives, it is obvious that the new baby is boss and he gets whatever he wants, from drinks made-to-order around the clock to his executive gym. Putting his two assistance in exhaustion!

I read The Boss Baby twice, and I enjoyed both the text and the illustrations. The idea of a baby actually running a household, I can imagine, is very close to reality for the parents of a newborn! I really liked the foreshadowing and shading that the author used to create depth in many of the
Show More
illustrations. I also enjoyed the humorous connections that were made between the everyday needs of a baby and his or her boss-like status within his or her household. Great facial expressions on the characters!

I was surprised to see this book rated so highly as it was not one of my favorites. I think it is one of those picture books with adult humor. It could be read to a child expecting a sibling because it pointds out how busy a new baby can keep parents and take time away from the older child.

This books is really creative and very entertaining to read.

The boss baby is running his parents ragged with his constant demands and unyielding work schedule. The boss baby's high expectations will keep you laughing and appreciating the expectations that come with parenthood.

A really fun story about who's REALLY running the show at home... The artwork is lovely, and the way the story reads makes it easy to interpret from either a child's or adult's point of view.

This is a hilarious book about a baby who has made it his duty to make his parents life as difficult as possible. With the streaking colors and lines from the illustration, it only brings out the intensity of the boss babies duty.

A humorous story about just how "bossy" and demanding babies can be.

A great book for all ages.

Boss Baby is very cute, with a creative spin on how a baby views his parents. The illustrations of Boss Baby in a little suit and with various tough, authority figure expressions on his face are priceless.

Boss Baby would be a good story time book that would get a few laughs and help young students
Show More
understand that dealing with a child, be it son, daughter, or sibling, can be very demanding.

"The Boss Baby" is a wonderfully whimsical explanation of why babies take up so much of a parent's time. In the book, babies are CEOs of corporations; toting briefcases and constantly wearing a scowl.

RESPONSE: I thought this would be a great book for a new sibling, as new babies often result in a
Show More
sort of culture shock. It'd also be fantastic for new parents, as a lot of the illustrations are jokes that a child may miss, but a parent would pick up on and smirk at.

THEMES/CONCEPTS: new babies, familial love

I loved this book! This book puts the life of a baby in an executives place-the baby calls meetings at all hours of the day (the baby is up at all hours in his crib!), demands drinks all hours of the day and has fits if his demands are not met, just like a bossy boss would! The baby does all of
Show More
this demanding withough talking, but when he finally does, he gets more of his demands met. He goes back to being bossy though! The illustrations in this book seem to be done with color pencil (I think?) and the colors/style used seem to make the story look like it takes place in the 50's. This is a really cute book that almost seems more appropriate for parents or older sisters/brothers who would get that babies rule.

Hilarious! I think I need to get a copy for a friend who had her son about 2 months ago and can’t believe how much her life has changed!! I almost think this book is more geared to adults than kids. A parent would ‘get’ the humor in this book. It might need some explanation in a house hold
Show More
where a child has not experienced a baby sibling. The illustrations add so much in terms of humor, expression, and emotion. The pictures manage to depict exhaustion, isolation, power, and love. Great fun.

The book’s theme is that new babies are the bosses of their household; they dictate everything that goes on in the house. It's a very well executed metaphor and can be used to talk to your first child about the demand a new baby is going to take.

This is a hilarious story of a baby who is, quite simply, The Boss. This story uses humor and business analogy to demonstrate the center of attention single-mindedness that a baby is (probably a good book for new older-siblings). I loved the simple colored pencil drawings. Sort of cartoon-like,
Show More
they added to the joke that parents must be laughing at as they read this to their young ones.

A great regular read-aloud time book to fill a need for humor.

Hilarious book that is great for parents and babies alike! This book has humor as well as great illustrations. We all know that babies are the bosses of their families!
LibraryThing member lalenaz
This book is about a baby that with his arrival he bosses both parents around in the house. This is in fact a portrayal of reality and when a baby arrives, as it is in this book, all the activities are revolve around the child. Of course the sweetness of babies take the hardship of raising the
Show More
children away, like when they talk mom and dad for the first time.
The illustrations show the real emotions or feelings of the parents. For example when they are really tired they show that with their eyes and body posture.

A baby comes into the house and suddenly he is the boss! He makes demands at all hours of the day-even in the middle of the night! Can anyone satisfy this baby?

The illustrations are what really make this book hilarious. Seeing a little baby in a suit yelling into his baby monitor is just too funny.
LibraryThing member kbesaw
This book is written in a comical style and tells its readers what its like to have a baby around the house. When the baby wants something, they get it...or else.
LibraryThing member kbarnes
Probably not so good as a storytime book but an excellent gift for new parents.
LibraryThing member briannawg
This book is a way of telling how much work babies demand. It tells it in a very comical way, depicting the baby as a businessman. He is the boss and the family are employees. This book is extremely comical, and the pictures really add to the comedy of the book.
