For Peculiar Eyes Only

the proudly particular, and the “terrifying and terrible.” Filled with plenty of references to Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, some more world building information, and a few new interesting tidbits.

The hardback edition has a very pretty matt finish, with shiny lettering, and nice thicker paper. There are fun little details, such as annotations written in the margins from Miss Peregrine to Jacob written in cursive. This book includes actual photos of particular people, though most are given fictional stories that fit this book. The first part seeks to classify some particularities as elemental, morphological, strength, communicators, and necrologically gifted. Then a small section on Peculiar Animals and Plants. The actual stories of particular people are in the Eminent Figures from History section, though there are some noticeable differences to their historical information. It is a great opportunity for readers to research these notable people on their own. Though some of the advice and stories should be not be tried, such as asbestos pajamas, and hunting for loops in dark tunnels or haunted places alone.

The second part is dedicated to time loops, followed by how to conduct oneself, ymbrynes, and our enemies. Ending with a penny dreadful short story called Window Shopping at Bedlam, and other various information that did not fit in the other categories. These sections follow the books fairly well, and filled full with fictional history and explanations of the world behind the series. This is a wonderfully peculiar, and thoughtful companion to the books.
