Possibly the greatest poetry anthology ever (even if it's a shocking shade of green and Ted Hughes was involved). A gift to every student who was taught from it, and a shelfwarmer for the rest of us.

The poems in this book are unusually arranged in alphabetic order of their titles, which makes for some curious juxtapositions. Both editors are poets themselves; they say "we hope...our decision allows the contents to discover themselves as we ourselves gradually discovered them - each poem full

This is a collection of poetry from across the British Isles and Ireland and I highly recommend it.
A must for any fan of poetry.

The best collection of poetry I have found. Very diverse (in poets, styles, forms, subjects). The cover art is horrible so I hope that isn't on anyone's critera. A collection to just flip through, pick a random page and read!

This is an unusual collection of international poems deliberately unsorted and randomly presented. Hugely enjoyable. I lost this book and recently found it and reread it in a B&B. I went close to stealing it.

The Rattle Bag is a mixed bag. William Blake gets eighteen entries, Rudyard Kipling none; Ogden Nash gets more entries than Sylvia Plath. By far the biggest contributor is Anonymous with his or her penchant for doggerel. There are, of course, many old favourites and new delights, but there are

better poetry anthologies out there: I recommend Poem for the Day Books 1 and 2.

A collection of poems curated by Seamus Heaney and Ted Hughes for kiddos. Some old favorites (and for them to be favorites for me, you *know* they're *old*), some new (to me) delights, and a fair few that didn't really resonate with me. A mixed rattle bag, as it were.
