Book tastes

I am interested in nonfiction books leading up to the start of the US Civil War, Lewis & Clark, and journals of Hernando DeSoto. I would like books with genuine US history, the earliest explorers. I prefer paperback, where possible.

Don't get this!

fiction, LGBT+, politics other than those mentioned in my book tastes, religion, photo books, national parks, none of the battles of the US Civil War, no sports, no mountain men fighting with Indians, no shipwrecks. No nonfiction of other wars. I don't like books where everyone dies in the end. Don't get something that's particularly bloody or gory, bad guys like Billy the Kid, Dalton Gang, etc.
