Book tastes

I am never sure how to describe my reading interests for this exchange. Dark, bizarre, classic, medieval, Paganism, magick, eclectic, cooking & cats would be an attempt I suppose. Whew.

I live in an actual Cabinet of Curiosities / Library that is my warehouse studio. Until a few years ago I mostly consumed classic literature, dark poetry, & non fiction. Thankfully age has tempered my interests. The Library Thing recommended generator hits me fairly well, but I have only had time to list a bit less than 1/4 of my books. So some of the recommendations I already own. I am slowly filling my reading gaps in the more modern & fantasy fiction, dystopian, sci-fi range. So perhaps anything by Neil Gamin, Terry Pratchett, (I have read some of the Discworld books, but oddly own none of them), anything where a cat is the hero, or maybe add to my cookbook or non fiction addiction.

Greg Jenkins, Medieval Cooking in Today's Kitchen - Lisa Perrin, The League of Lady Poisoners - Chris Behrsin, A Cat's Guide to Bonding with Dragons - are all currently on my personal wishlist for winter reading.

Paperback preferred to hard cover. Used preferred to new.

Apologies to the person who gets me in the draw, I am difficult, I know.

Don't get this!

Romance, cosy anything, politics, LGBTQ, history, self help, spirituality, biography, memoirs

katemcangus: checked and ordered (Dec 6, 2023, 10:03pm)
katemcangus: We had to make adjustments because all 4 books chosen were used and we don’t order used books for SantaThing.

We had to remove “Carbonel" by Barbara Sleigh because it’s not available new. When we adjusted the prices we were over budget, so we had to remove “Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman, about which your Santa said “The best Neil Gaiman adventure, dark magical realism and delightfully British.” (Dec 6, 2023, 9:58pm)
