Book tastes
Well-written (I have a tag for that, so you can see what books I consider in that league, as it is a matter of personal taste); fantasy (with a little or a lot of humor is perfect), horror, albeit only with a lot of (black) humor... dystopias (again, a bit of humor goes a long way) :)
Some books I've really enjoyed this year: Nayler's 'The Mountain in the Sea'; Lawerence's 'The Book That Wouldn't Burn'; Wells' 'Witch King'; Bancroft's 'The Hexologists'; anything by A. Lee Martinez (am rereading all of his); Mayfield's 'The Parentations'; Valdes' 'The Chilling Effect' series; everything by T. Kingfisher; Johnson's 'Truly Devious' series (not sure why that appealed to me so much TBH).
Don't get this!
Please: no Niel Gaiman. Nothing dark, sad, or generally depressing (I have the news for that)... no second books in series I've started or by authors I have in my collection (unless they're listed on my Wishlist) :)
Other notes
Please make sure to check my catalogue: I have quite a few books that are tagged 'Didn't Like' or 'Didn't Read' (",)

I wanted to get you either Henry Hoke's Open Throat or K. Eason's Nightwatch over Windscar, but both had stock/pricing issues. I also thought of S. L. Huang's The Water Outlaws and Connie Willis' The Road to Roswell, but stock/pricing again. Rachel Harrison writes cozy horror, and you have Cackle on your wishlist. Stock issues!
I hope you enjoy the three books I was able to select. :)
LT elves, if Readings showed their prices in USD, not AUD, please remove The Empress of Salt and Fortune. (Today, 3:57pm) (Nov 30, 2023, 3:59pm)
