The illustrations in this story are LOVELY and manage to tell a story that is, essentially, wordless. Words are scattered around letting us know what sounds are happening, but the book is enjoyable with or without them. Nicely done.

The setting of this book is a house in the countryside in the middle of the winter, with snow all around. It is a book all in sounds. It is peaceful setting and the colors of the pictures combined with the sounds make for a peaceful book. You get the feeling that you are there hearing the muted

sounds in the snow fall. This book is realistic fiction. It is set in present day and the story line is believable and realistic. It is about a boy getting ready for school near Christmas in the snow. The story line is believable as are all the sounds that we all hear everyday but never recognize.

Spare poetry and elegant watercolor paintings cleverly bring to life this unique story of snow removal and the fun onomatopoeic sounds accompanying it.

This is a great picture book if a little kid was trying to learn what an onomatopoeia is. The pictures tie in very well to the pictures. The pictures just add to the atmosphere of the book. The fact that this book has such little words in it, is very impressive. Overall, it is a great book to learn
