This ARC (Advanced Readers Copy) is wide in the breadth of topics touched upon, but narrow with depth in most areas. Its strength as an introductory book to specific concerns for the teen (high-school student to college entrant) does offer insights into those skills that the young person may want

to take further with other sources that offer more detailed information. The author is inclusive of additional sources as in gender issues but it might reach young digital readers best if these were bulleted with topical subheadings rather than buried under general FAQs [Loc 385]. The format will appeal to the text-driven reader; although blocks of text are broken up with photos and some charts, the use of constant standard typeface and layout throughout may make it tough going for the more visual teen.

While the author gives a short biography in the beginning pages, neither she nor the publishing company note their prior books or publications or background, so credibility or professional status anywhere. Moreover, I could not find reference to either online using several browsers. Adding these would lend some authority to the book.

With other sources on the same topics already available, this is one that is written with a personal perspective and solicitous approach.

A book meant for teenagers, specifically middle school and early high school, which helps them deal with growing into adults and dealing with changes and challenges that occur during this period. At 106 pages, it’s a quick read.

A useful guide for teens and young adults as they enter the "real world" by going off to college, etc. Definitely has the format of a textbook/self-help, but provides useful information.

This was a book that I wish I had read when I was on my way out of the house going to college at 19 years old. Reading it as an adult I felt like it was very practical and was very helpful. I hope to have my own daughter read this before she leaves home for college. Thanks for compiling such a

helpful book for teens/young adults. Many adults could learn these lessons as well!
