Description

"Wild Grace is Chelan Harkin's most moving collection of poetry yet... These poems are deeply nourishing. It's impossible to read them without feeling something long dormant stir inside you." --Eric Weiner New York Times Best-selling author of The Geography of Bliss "There's a Vedic saying: 'Thy gifts, my Lord, I surrender to Thee.' Chelan has indeed received a Divine gift. I don't think ordinary human intelligence could express such depth in words.." --Rick Archer, host of podcast Buddha at the Gas Pump: Conversations with "Ordinary" Spiritually Awakening People In Wild Grace, Chelan Harkin uses ecstatic poetry to redefine our relationship with the divine. Wild Grace by Chelan Harkin is a book of meditations written in prosaic and poetic styles. In this, her third publication, her search for inspiration, her appreciation of those who have come before her, among those such as Rumi, and her respect for nature are all coalesced into verse that goes

straight to the soul and heart. Even the manner in which the book is designed - layout, typeface, spacing and cover art - is sensitive to her intent – to inspire. It is a beautiful book in all its aspects. Those readers who value the words of Denise Levertov, or Hildegard of Bingen, will love this small book by this young, mystic poet.

Overall not a bad book. The poetry was definantly interesting. Definantly gave a different perspective on some things.

reminded me of the journal I kept between ages 10-13 when I thought I was writing brilliant, never-before-considered, thoughts and poetry. That being said, I did enjoy "Be a Heretic" and "Bad Influence." I believe the author has potential and this would make a nice gift for a young, aspiring writer/poet or young feminist dabbling in comparative religion.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher in exchange for my honest review via LibraryThing Early Reviewers.

This one left me a little all over the place. It's more mystical than religious, but gets a little heavy handed with the preaching and the metaphors. Overall, it was pleasant enough, but I probably won't keep it around for a second read. I'd be very interested to see what the author does with
