I read this book several years ago and failed to document my thoughts on it, which are positive ones.

The book is a valuable resource for persons trying to understand Christian baptism. The subject is thoroughly discussed from the perspective of the bible, history, theology, and culture. Persons of

the Stone-Campbell religious heritage should especially find the book useful, although the insights one may gain from it should be useful to all serious readers, including non-Christians.

Each chapter ends with three items to bring focus to that just read: 1) a summary statement or principle, 2) a prayer, and 3) questions for discussion. The book also contains an excellent bibliography for suggested reading. There is no index.
