Other than a couple of jokes and one-liners here and there, this book is actually a lot more serious than the creators' later works. Still a solid read, except that it doesn't look like DC will be collecting the ensuing issues anytime soon, which is a shame. There are a lot of storylines that

Personally, not my cup of tea, but it still deserves 4 stars for being a fun read. The moments of humor are truly funny. Also totally 80's - if you didn't pick it up knowing the original publishing date, Black Canary's costume & hair, the political propaganda, and Reagan guest spot would clear up

any doubt immediately. I'll read book 2 because I borrowed it from a friend, but probably won't continue on from there simply because the superhero genre isn't my favorite. However, if you're a fan of them, you should definitely take a look.
