Local notes

"The Song of the Messiah", which will stand as the final narrative poem in my Cycle of the West, is, like the others of the series, complete in itself; but its appeal should be greater to those who are familiar with "The Song of the Indian Wars", since it deals with the last phase of Indian resistance on the Prairies. The action takes place in western South Dakota, chiefly in the country south of the Black Hills. - John G. Neihardt.
