finds a dead man and an active telegraph key. By touching that key, he became involved in a plot by former Confederate soldiers who are planning on assassinating General Sherman to get revenge for his trip to the sea.

Along the way, he volunteers to participate in a boxing match to win funds to continue his trip west and he falls for a feisty young woman who becomes a victim of the assassination plot.

Another L'Amour page turner.

Fairly standard L'Amour, with a little bit of everything: Confederate renegades, outlaws, fisticuffs, bison stampedes, train robbery, and some young women inserted in the mix. Worth a read, but headed out the door.
