This is a story about a woman who is married to a very abusive man. Waiting for the right time she fakes her own death and runs from Chicago to Seattle, changes her name and starts a new life. When Megan gets to Seattle she discovers 2 things, 1 that she is pregnant and 2 there was a dismemebered

body found in trashbags in Chicago by her old house and the police think it's her. Her husband, Glenn, is arrested and sent to prison for life. Go forward 15 years and Josh is a happy 14 year old boy, Megan has a good job but she is still cautious. Megan finds out that her husband has been released because a DNA test proved the body wasn't her. Then Josh disappears and Megan thinks Glenn is behind it. Does he or is someone else stalking Megan?

I have to admit that the beginning of this book is a little slow but please stay with it because once over the hump you will not be able to put it down. I spent so much time bouncing back and forth thinking I knew who the bad guy was only to change my mind again and again. There were times I would literally gasp out loud and a couple of times I had to shut the book for a few minutes while trying to get the picture out of my head. Do yourself a favor and read this book.

I really enjoyed this and I'd give it 3.9 stars. But it's for good reason. It took forever to get to the heart of the story and it jumped back and forth in terms of time periods which was really frustrating when O'Brien did it (normally I don't have a problem with jumping time periods). and lastly,

it was just weirdly too graphic for me. Now I normally don't mind some graphic stuff (I mean one of my favorite shows is Criminal Minds!) But some of the stuff seamed pointless and had no place in the story. Overall, though, the mystery was good!
