It was wonderful to be back on Blossom Street!!! All the characters are so real and it is wonderful to learn more about characters from before and get to know new or slightly mentioned characters. The conflict in the book is real and the characters grow, even some of the "bad" ones. It's wonderful

to read about such disparate characters who are all part of a community of their own making. It is wonderful and hope full to read this book and realize that people can change for the better and appreciate the people around them even more. I can hardly wait for the next book in the series!

Once again, Debbie Macomber has come through with Blossom Street Brides. In this book, part of a larger series, three women struggle with everyday problems to reach a satisfying but endearing endings. First, there is Lauren. Lauren has been engaged to Todd, the local radio celebrity, for what seems
Show More
like ages, eagerly waiting for him to pop the question, but that just never seems to happen. Finally, Lauren tells Todd that their relationship is over, though Todd refuses to see or admit this and stays in the picture, creating a myriad of problems and awkward situations. Todd’s presence makes Lauren’s budding relationship with Rooster, friend and partner of the town’s Party Planner, Bethanne’s, new husband, Max, difficult to maintain and grow. Lydia, owner of the town knitting shop, remains happily married to Brad, but is struggling to make a go of her store while, at the same time, is also struggling to understand why her newly adopted daughter is having nightmares, which she refuses to discuss with her mother or father. Finally, Bethanne and Max are having a tough time with their new, long distance marriage, seeing each other whenever one of them can manage to get free to come to the other’s location. She would like Max to move to Seattle with his wine business, while he would be happy if she relocated to California, where his business is. Add a couple of other few tricky situations into the mix (Lauren’s employer and best friend’s refusal to accept her own pregnant daughter’s plan to marry the father of her child, the fact that someone, unbeknownst to anyone, is putting baskets with knitting with an invitation to work on the piece all over town, and Bethanne’s daughter’s refusal to accept her mother’s new husband as well as her inability to see her own father’s manipulations to get his now divorced wife, Bethanne, back at all costs even though Bethanne is just happy to be rid of him), and Debbie Macomber gives the reader an interesting and heartfelt story. The character development and chemistry between all the couples and their families was very well done. I particularly enjoyed watching Rooster and Lauren’s love develop into an all-consuming true passion for each other. This book, as with the others in the series, presents one more snapshot of life in a small town. I have been an avid fan of Debbie Macomber for years, eagerly awaiting and reading her novels of romance, the mystery of life in small towns, and how people come together in times of happiness or trouble. This one delivers what I have come to expect. Other authors often seem to “lose” it after a few novels and are unable or unwilling to start a new series or work to get their groove back, but not this author. Time and again, she has produced a wonderful tale, thrilling me and her other fans another to enjoy and cherish. I almost could not put the book down, as I read it, eagerly waiting to see what would happen next in these women’s lives and how everyone would react. This book is a definite must for all Debbie Macomber fans or for anyone who is looking for something refreshing and exciting. I am grateful to NetGalley for providing me the chance to read this early.

Lauren 's younger sister is pregnant and she is over 30 and feeling every year of her devastation. Todd is just not ready financially for their engagement...
Lauren is secure in her job at the high-end jewelry store and learns of the

owners daughter who is also pregnant.
Bethany and Max have a second chance at love and her daughter is pregnant also. Problem is Grant the ex husband is trying to break them up. Max surprises her along with Rooster who hits it off with Lauren who's broken up with Todd.
So love the idea of the knitting baskets around town where you sit and knit and when the scarf is done bring it to the yarn store and they'll drop it off at a shelter.
With a new generation some from the past make an appearance in this book. Love the travels.
Easy to keep those related bunched together as they all deal with different issues. Was a bit disappointed that the baby blanket pattern was not included as I do knit for charity.
I received this book from Edelweiss by Random House in exchange for my honest review.

Lauren Elliott has waited years for her long-term boyfriend, Todd, to propose, yet he seems more focused on his career than their relationship. When Lauren learns that her younger sister is pregnant before she herself even has an engagement ring, she feels overjoyed yet disheartened. Knowing she can’t put her future on hold, Lauren prepares to make a bold choice—one that leads her to a man she never dreamed she’d meet.

Newly married to her second husband, Max, Bethanne Scranton is blissfully in love. But with Max’s job in California and Bethanne’s in Seattle, their long-distance marriage is becoming difficult to maintain. To complicate matters, Bethanne’s cunning ex will do anything to win her back.

As she considers how to bring in business, she discovers that someone has beaten her to the punch. Baskets of yarn are mysteriously popping up all over town, with instructions to knit a scarf for charity and bring it into Lydia’s store. Never before has her shop received so much attention, but who hatched this brilliant plan?

As three women’s lives intersect in unexpected ways, Lydia, Lauren, and Bethanne realize that love heals every heart, and the best surprises still lay ahead.

Women's fiction is a genre that I ignored for a long time because I thought it was too heavy in the drama department and kind of depressing. About two years ago, I gave Debbie Macomber a chance and I was blown away. I have found that I really enjoy this genre more and more as time goes on because of how real it feels and it's much more mature reading. I don't know which storyline I liked the best, but I suppose the story of Bethanne and Max made the biggest impact. I have personal experience with a family member that remarried years after a divorce and his grown children nearly caused another divorce. I guess I could relate to the struggles the couple had in that area of the relationship. Long distance relationships are always hard and troubles with Bethanne's ex-husband and daughter made the separation all the more difficult.
I applauded Lauren for having the courage to break things off with Todd. She didn't waste anymore time on a man that wasn't ready for marriage. What an arrogant man he was, and pretty dense too! Whirlwind romances are not always the smartest idea. But, we are talking about adults that followed their hearts and the lesson was that no matter what other people think or if they approve or not, we can't let them dictate to us what works for us. If it's right, it's right. Even well meaning friends and family need to mind their own business. Cheers to Lauren and Rooster!
Lydia is struggling with her adoptive daughter's horrendous nightmares and with trying to build up a more solid business base. An anonymous person leaving baskets of yarn around town has begun to help bring in customers, but who is this mysterious person leaving the baskets?
All the stories in the book are emotional and depicts human nature in a realistic manner. All of us have insecurities and we all think about ourselves and we want and attempt to convince other they want the same thing. Trust is a the root of many issues, as well as unrealistic expectations we have of ourselves and others. I love how Lauren took the advice she was given by her friend, which she asked for, it wasn't unsolicited, and how she was always ready to admit she made a mistake. Even when she isn't at fault she wants to make things right. Too many people let pride get in the way of making a relationship work because they can't say "I'm sorry" first. The sweetest story was Lydia's but it kind of got lost in the shuffle amid the heavy drama between the other couples and some of the secondary characters. Through hard work and tenacity these couples will get their much deserved HEA! After so many novels written in this series, Debbie Macomber has never lost her touch!
This one gets 4 stars

Review:

"Blossom Street Brides" by Debbie Macomber was truly another one of this author's good reads of 'struggles of love and marriage.' I
Show More
found this novel to be for me an enjoyable one that was so interesting I found it hard to put down because there was so much going on you would be left wondering what was going to happen next. This novel deals with three ladies...

Lauren, who was at crossroads with her long term boyfriend... wanting commitment and marriage. Will she get it?

Lydia was the owner of the yarn shop and was having issues with her newly adopted daughter and her aging mother. Now her shop is receiving knitted scarfs to be donated to a homeless shelter.

and

Bethanne who was a newlywed, coping with a long distance relationship...ex husband unwilling to let go and a daughter whose daughter refuses to accept her parents divorce and her mom's remarriage. What will happen here?

How will these ladies be tied together in this read? One thing is for sure each of these ladies will have their own relationship issues along with the unexpected, surprising and some of it a real 'jaw dropper.' How will it all come out? ...This is where I say you will have to pick up this good read of "Blossom Street Brides" to see how this author will bring it all out to the reader. "Blossom Street Brides" is a must read.

This is not the copy that I won, which I have not received; but a book from the library. I still recovering from the flu, and have spent the time immersing myself in books. Again, this is a lovely selection with hope, love, and charity. As a knitter, I love the idea of knitting baskets scattered

It was wonderful to be back on Blossom Street again with all the characters that we have come to know and love through Debbie's earlier Blossom Street books. This time the story was mainly about Lauren who works in a jewlery store and has been dating Todd, a local TV personality for years. She
Show More
wants to get married and he is stalling. She finds a new romance with someone very different and has to decide what she really wants. There are also several other stories that go on at the same time. The book is great and just what we expect from Debbie Macomber.

I’ve seen the name Debbie Macomber numerous times, but had never read one of her books until this little gem from the Early Reviewers at Library Thing. While I have an ongoing love affair with the Pacific Northwest, it didn’t hurt that this novel is set in Seattle.

This is chick-lit at its
Show More
happiest. Love, secrets, babies, romance, weddings…what’s not to like?! This novel covers it all while weaving the different characters into each of the other’s storylines, which makes good for a series writer for sure. I could almost guess who earlier novels were about and I have some guesses about some future novels and characters from this one.

For me, the main story line is Lauren and Rooster (not a rooster, but a man named Rooster). I’m a sucker for romance and new love, and the monkey wrenches Macomber throws in make this storyline even better. I appreciate that she wrote romance but not pornography. I’m not sure if Macomber is a Christian writer, but the romance scenes feel sweet; I didn’t feel like I needed to take a shower afterward to cleanse myself. That is refreshing these days to say the least. Lauren meets Rooster, on Blossom Street, at the local yarn store, which is the central hub to the characters’ interweaving. He is not her usual type, but yet, her boyfriend of several years may not be either. Their chance meeting is something that can happen only in a romance novel, or when many, many stars are aligned just perfectly.

A second storyline includes a couple who is married but live in separate cities due to career obligations. Max and Bethanne are both on their second marriage with baggage beyond commuting on weekends to see each other – will one of them sacrifice their career for the big move or will they keep the fire burning with texts, phone calls and weekend trysts? Oh, and by the way Max and Rooster are business partners, with their company based in Sonoma, CA.

A third storyline involves Lydia, the owner of the yarn store, and her family. Married to a man with a son from a previous marriage and a jointly adopted teenage girl, her roller coaster of a life is all kinds of up and down and loop-to-loop.

I can’t say Macomber fooled me with the storylines too much, it’s definitely not a mystery as to what the outcomes will mostly likely be, but the stories are sweet and interwoven nicely. This is a fantastic summer/beach read when your mind wants to relax and enjoy some romance without feeling dirty. I just may have to add a couple more of Macomber’s titles to my beach/pool bag for the next couple of months!

The ladies of Blossom Street are back in another great book from Debbie Macomber. Someone has been leaving baskets with yarn and instructions to "knit me" all over town, and indication that Lydia's yarn shop is involved. Lauren desperately wants to be married and have kids, but sometimes love comes

Book Review: I have always loved Debbie Macomber’s books and therefore I am prejudice in my thoughts on her books. I loved the Lydia, Lauren and Bethanne. They were great and very likable characters. Brad, Max and Rooster were great guys. I was less bowled over by Rooster - not a fan of the name. He did grow on me as a character. It is this particular reason that Debbie Macomber is a good author. Rooster was a risky character. I personally am not into men with long hair, biker guys and the like. Yet there was more to Rooster than just those things. The quick meeting and the quick build in the relationship was like my relationship to my husband made it even more fun. Rooster had an old fashion side to him that was sweet and lovable. While not suspenseful in romance it was a wonderful book. Bethanne and Max had their problems, but they were a solid couple. This is a welcome theme in a world with so many failed relationships. Lydia and Brad were the rock solid family a sweet addition to the overall book. I am very glad I got to read this story.
I would like to thank Net Galley and Random House Publishing Group for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and I was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone.

This was another fantastic, feel good novel by Debbie Macomber that showcases regular women, in extraordinary romances, never shying away from the realities that many of us face. Max Scranton's business partner and fellow biker, Rooster is knocked head over heels when he sees Lauren Elliot on

Blossom Street. I enjoyed the follow up to this biker, remembering this character from A Turn in the Road. Lydia Goetz, owner of A Good Yarn, is dealing with both an aging parent and a troubled teen. Bethanne and her new husband, Max are navigating their new marriage while maintaining households in two states. I really liked catching up with various characters from earlier Blossom Street books, via cameos and as friends of the women detailed here. I heartily recommend setting aside a nice spring afternoon for a visit with Macomber's characters.

I found Blossom Street Brides to be a little slow at the beginning. I think I have only read one other in the series and I found the numerous characters and story lines a little hard to track. I also found the abrupt swith from one story line to another each chapter a little disorienting. When I

I have read nearly all of Debbie Macomber's books and this one is just as good as the others. We revisit Lydia's yarn shop and meet old friends plus a few new ones. There are three main stories threaded together, or should I say 'knit' together? I tried to think which one I liked best, but couldn't
Show More
decide. Lauren has been waiting years for Todd to get his life together. It is obvious to the reader that Todd is enjoying the status quo, and finally Lauren needs to make a difficult decision about her life. Stick it out and hope Todd will soon be ready to marry, or break up and keep looking? Bethanne and Max, recently married, but living in two different states and only able to see each other on occasional weekends. Should Bethanne sell her party business and move to California's wine country, or should Max move his wine business to Washington state? The ramifications of each are daunting. Bethanne's party business is what brought her confidence back after Grant left her. But it is almost not financially feasible to move the wine business to Seattle. I decided early in the book what I thought they should do and fortunately Debbie felt the same way. Lydia and Brad's adopted daughter, Casey, is dealing with some very difficult issues and Lydia and Brad do their best to let Casey know that they love her unconditionally.

Thanks, Debbie for yet another great story. I am ready to pull out your books and reread them again now that summer's here.

There is a bit of a mystery woven into this story of love and romance. Baskets of yarn with instructions for scarves are appearing in various places around town with notes that say to knit while waiting for the bus or at the fast food restaurant. Then the person who finishes the scarf is asked to
Show More
return it to A Good Yarn shop, to be donated to a homeless shelter. All the yarn sports A Good Yarn labels, yet Lydia had nothing to do with it and no one seems to know who thought up this great idea. Lydia has a wonderful life and loves her family, but is concerned about her mother’s declining health, her teenage daughter’s angst and nightmares, her yarn shop’s income, and the well-being of her whole family. At times, it’s all over-whelming. Lauren is tired of waiting for Todd to set the date, but is she ready to tell him it’s now or never? Bethanne is blissfully in love with her second husband, but because of their businesses, they live in different states. Can they eliminate one state and set up a joint household? The lives of these women intersect in imaginative ways in this novel of friendship and love. Fans of Debbie Macomber will not be disappointed with this Blossom Street novel with its entertaining plot and likable, well-developed and continuing characters. All these women have their fair share of problems and then some, but how they work through them to arrive at that “Macomber happy ending” is well worth the read.
