Naomi is a doctor in the small town of Cypress Hollow. She wants to fit in and become part of the community but, try as she might, the close knit community isn't eager to accept their newest resident as one of them. Having breakfast in a local restaurant one morning, Naomi spies Rig, a fellow

doctor with whom she recently had a one-night fling.

Rig isn't interested in a lifelong commitment but he takes over half of Naomi's practice and decides that an affair won't do any harm. Neither Naomi nor Rig are ready for the passion and love that soon blooms between them, and that love is in jeopardy as neither want to share their secrets with each other.

Naomi Fontaine has been a doctor in Cypress Hollow for a year, but her stand-offish demeanor and social awkwardness make it seem like she's still a newcomer. When love enters her life in the form of fellow doctor Rig Keller, she blossoms. I found I enjoyed the stories of the Keller men, Rig,

brother Jake and father Frank more than I did Naomi's. It was hard to get to know her as a reader too.

I found myself distracted from the rest of the book, when in the first 30 pages it was established that the protagonist was a physician, had a one night fling, knitted, found out the new medical doctor in her office was the "fling-ee", and he knitted also. Out of national medical conference, the

chance of this happening is nil. This was all too improbable for me to take the rest of the book seriously. The writing was good, but the book went from folksy to racy, another improbability. I might attempt the author's first book in this series.

This is a book I won from LIbraryThing to early review and had to read the first 2 in the trilogy to do so. I have to say that they are were an entertaining read, not anything too heavy but a nice relaxing time... the third book was faster paced then the others an I really do hope the author

continues with this as a series. The knitting facts and references and a pattern at the end of the book were a very nice bonus too!

What a great love story. This book was a page turner. The characters are very real with a variety of characteristics that you would find in a real person. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance.

Thanks to LibraryThing Early Reviewer program I received the 3rd book in the Cypress Hollow series. Family isn't always related by blood is the lesson Dr. Naomi Fontaine must learn. She also must learn that she can't control everything. Rig Keller is just the person to point that out. He has some

lessons to learn as well. Rachael Herron's characters are engaging but I felt the story was a bit scattered and the romance was rushed. I liked it but felt this could have been two books. So many characters, so many issues that were touched on but not fully explored. Herron is a good storyteller but I think she tried to tell too many in this novel.That said, I look forward to the next book in the Cypress Hollow series.

This book has me torn. On one hand I didn't like: how we were hit over the head by the one-dimensional-ness of the characters. Yes Naomi is lonely, yes Rig has a great butt, yes Jake is over protective, we get it already! The racy parts & language were beyond my comfort level. It also seems that

people's emotions, even strongly held beliefs are changed at the drop of a hat.

In spite of all that, I didn't stop reading, I wanted to know how it ended. I LOVED the knitting quotes at the start of every chapter.

I was excited to learn about this series set in California that features knitting. Unfortunately, the series does not live up to my expectations. The Cypress Yarn series is very similar to the Seaside Knitter's Mystery series set in Massachusetts. But the Cypress Yarn series lacks characters and

setting and emotion. Both series are not of the caliber of Elizabeth George or Patricia Cornwell, instead each is easy reading. Wishes and Stitches is not worthy of the reading time, but did enjoy the shawl pattern at the end of the book.

Naomi Fontaine's dream has always been to be a small-town doctor. So when she has the opportunity to buy into a practice in Cypress Hollow, California, she jumps at it.
She's even able to get a charming little cottage to live in.

But, for some reason, it's not at all what she expected. Painfully shy,

she never knows what to say to people, even when they speak to her first. At least, with old Dr. Pederson on such a long vacation, she's able to keep busy at work. And she can daydream about the uncharacteristic one-night-stand she had at that medical conference.

Then the guy (what kind of name is "Rig" anyway?) walks into the Tillie's Diner while Naomi's having breakfast. Not only is Rig's brother Jake captain of the town's fire department, he's the one Dr. Pederson hired to help Naomi with the medical practice.

Naomi does her best to avoid Rig, but it's hard when they have to work together. Keeping their relationship professional is tough when Rig won't cooperate -- and why does he seem to fit into the small town more easily than her?

All the Cypress Hollow regulars are here: Abigail and Cade, Lucy and Owen. It's not difficult to forsee where Naomi and Rig will end up, but the journey there is interesting and contains a few surprises.

The third Cypress Hollow yarn is as charming as the first two. The pattern for the shawl that Naomi is knitting is included at the end of the book.

Purchased book-didn't get ER copy-Loved the book! Great story about 2 doctor's who are oppositesin many ways such as work style, romance, personality, etc. Naomi is a good doctor but isn't a people person but she really wants to be. Her one night stand Rig, turns out to be her new partner. He is

charming and easy going. This couple really has to fight for the relationship but initially spend their time fighting the attraction to each other. They both have family issues and their siblings are the secondary story in the book. The family issues play a big part in their inablility to have a permanent relationship. Naomi in particular, has an unexpected twist in her family situation that throws her idea of famly and relationships in a tizzy.

I won the book Wishes and Stitches thru the LibraryThing Early Reviewers program. The book revolves around the main character, a doctor named Naomi Fontaine who has been the doctor in a small town called Cypress Hollow for about a year, but still trying to fit in. She also knits as a hobby, has a

fling with another doctor who ALSO knits, and then finds that he has become the new partner in her medical office. It is the story of their blossoming relationship and the things they have to overcome to find love.

I found this book to be a little slow-starting for me...I just couldn't get interested, which is why it took me so long to finish. Maybe it was due to the knitting references and such, and the jump between typical romance to "Blaze' romance format that just didn't hold my attention. I sure readers that enjoy knitting and crocheting would find all the references to the craft to be wonderful, it just isn't something that interests me that much. To be fair though, the storyline was actually good, the book was easy to read once it got going, it just wasn't one of MY personal favorites.

Absolutey hands down one of the best books I've ever read! Once I got into it I could NOT put it down!! Totally addicting! Love love love it! Made me want to read more by Rachael Herron!

I really enjoyed this book. I think my favorite part is that it led me to a whole new series to read. I really enjoy getting into characters and visiting them often. I am not a knitter but I do love this series.
