Great sequel to Snowmen at Night. A boy wishes for the one magical snowman that will stay with him all year. He imagines what he would do during the different seasons.

If only snowmen could be with us all year long! A boy imagines all the fun he could have with a snowman if only the snowman could last the whole year.

With almost luminescent pictures and fun rhymes and just the right amount of absurdity.

“We’d go on all the wildest rides
At the amusement

park,
But best of all would be the fireworks
Lighting up the dark.”

Summary: This book is about what if snowmen came alive and lived all year without melting. Snowmen could fly kites, go to the beech, and go camping. That snowmen did not melt and did the same things that humans do.

Review: I thought this book was good. I think it would be good to read during the

winter or right after it snows.

Extension: Studying the letter s, making snow men out of platic balls, Learning the seasons.

Cheerful but unremarkable.

Summary: The story is about what would happen if snowman's would come alive, and in this situation, they didn't melt when Spring came. In the Spring and Summer, the snowmen would go fly kites, go on trips, and swim in the pools, and other fun activity's.

Personal Reactions: Thought the story was

very excellent and adorable for kids. I loved the idea, what if they could come alive. This book will most likely be added to my wish list for my bookshelves.

Classroom Extensions: Have the kids drawl what their snowman friend would look like. Tell us what will they all do since he/she can't melt. Why would he/she make the perfect best-friend.

Written in verse, this book indulges the imaginations of children and the fun they would have with snowmen if they could be around all year. I think it would be useful in the classroom during the winter, but also right before summer break because it would encourage children to talk about and get

excited for their summer plans.

My favorite of the set, until the last page. It's a whole different story all of a sudden, much more serious & melacholy.

"I love to build a snowman / On freezing winter days. / But when the sun is bright and warm / My snowman melts away. / There's nothing but a puddle / When my snowman disappears. / If only he were magic / And could stay with me all year!" So begins this third picture-book devoted to the imaginary
Show More
adventures of the eponymous snowmen. In this installment, the boy narrator imagines all the activities he could share with his snowman, all the year round, if snowmen didn't melt...

Like its two predecessors, Snowmen at Night and Snowmen at Christmas, Snowmen All Year pairs an engaging and imaginative tale told in rhyme with bright, colorful artwork that grabs the reader/listener's attention. Also like its predecessors, there are hidden images in the artwork here, that young children will enjoy searching for. Recommended to children who enjoyed the first two Snowmen books, as well as to anyone searching for fun read-aloud picture-books in rhyme.
