in a class of its own, i guess. i have not learned to use it yet, but the textual criticism the bible provides is said to be among the best offered. recommended.

An essential tool for pastors who want to read the Bible in the language in which it was written. I tend to use the electronic version in BibleWorks 7, but this is the edition I used to learn baby Greek in Seminary.

Widely used but criticized by some conservative scholars. I am not qualified to have an opinion.

How do you review such a book? Well, remembering my college days - the notes were helpful in textual studies... and the dictionary in the back made it great. My Novum Testamentum Graece looked great on my bookshelf, but this is the volume I actually used!

The introduction has very helpful information of textual criticism, especially in conjunction with Dr Metzger's Textual Commentary. The critical apparatus is provides numerous details on text variants and translation differences. With the recent passing of Bruce Metzger, we have lost two giants in

the field of textual criticism. I'm not sure who is stepping up to continue their work.

Having a Greek translation of the NT is a great tool and resource in understanding God's Word in the language it was written. The UBS is a good translation which wrestles with the variants and gives alternate readingswhen debated.

The Novum Testamentum Graece is the basis for nearly every modern Bible translation. Used by scholars, pastors, students and translators, the Nestle-Aland Novum Testamentum Graece is the standard and globally preeminent critical edition of the Greek New Testament. The 28th edition includes

fundamental revisions for better clarity and usability. The text of Catholic Epistles now incorporates the text-critical insights of the Editio Critical Maior (ECM) of the Greek New Testament—the most recent scholarly research in establishing the Greek text. In addition, newly discovered Papyri 117–127 are listed for the first time, opening up interesting perspectives, particularly on the Acts of the Apostles. This product contains the critical apparatus of the text.
