out any extraneous details, which unfortunately often means omitting the jokes and little charms that made the story so great. The illustrations are not bad, basically drawing renditions of the original computer animated material. My daughters love seeing their favorite characters in print, and they don't mind the subpar writing as much as mommy does. So two and a half stars, partially elevated for keeping my daughters' interest.
