Description

Fantasy. Fiction. Romance. HTML:I'm Lucille Robinson (aka Jaz Parks). This is a mission unlike anything my vampire boss, Vayl, and I have ever been on. It's not our usual take them out and run; it's an undercover mission that needs the whole gang: a psychic, an interpreter, and a weapons specialist. We're joining a Special Ops team to nail the Wizard, a major terrorist thorn in the military's side. We've never gone in with such heavy artillery before, but the more the merrier, right? Um . . . nope. At least not since Vayl and I learned part of our job is to ferret out a mole concealed in our unit. To add to our problems, we're being harried by a pack of reavers bent on revenge, and targeted by a Seer who wants to share Vayl's power - at any cost. Oh yeah, and let's not forget the army of demonic, soul-sucking parasites either. This is going to be a blast.… (more)

I am now a confirmed Jaz Parks fan. I love these books. Witty, charming and entertaining, with a enough depth and sensitivity to balance out the action. The characters are wonderful fun and take you with them through their emotional and physical journeys effectively. I was so unsure about this

series when I first heard of it, but figured, what the hell and am so glad I took a risk.

Jaz Parks next mission involves infiltrating her twin brother David's Special Ops group, with team in tow, to find a mole who is comprising the mission to find and capture or kill the Wizard. We're in a totally different environment for this book, though I think that may be a trend. This time it is

Jaz and the team are in Tehran this time working with her brother Dave's military team. They are undercover to assassinate a major terrorist with supernatural powers and to find the mole in Dave's team. It soon becomes clear that nothing is as it seems and Jaz has to make some tough decisions and

fight some awesome monsters. Along the way she gains some new talents and friends.

As always, Jaz moves the story along at a fast pace with her from the hip style and funny asides. The next one will be out soon, can't wait.

I'm really not sure how to categorize this series. I picked up the first one "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" and enjoyed it. I began the second one, "Another One Bites the Dust", then got sucked away by some reviewing for queuemyreview.com and it got lost! I finally found it and quickly finished it off

day before yesterday, then immediately started on "Biting the Bullet". Now I'm waiting impatiently for "Bitten to Death" which will release next month in August 2008.

The heroine of these books is Jaz Parks, a CIA assassin with some interesting and growing paranormal abilities. Her 'team' consists of a vampire, a supergeek, a psychic, and a trainee. We learn about her past which is incredibly dark in the first book. Her relationship with the vampire is growing and changing in each of the books, and for some reason I just CAN'T STOP READING THESE! Jaz interests me. She also, by turns, irritates me, repels me, and frustrates me as she does the rest of her 'team'.

In this latest book, she and her team are on the trail of their latest 'target' who is in Iran, but it just so happens that this assignment has her working with her twin brother...to the surprise of them both!! The action begins in the first paragraph and doesn't let up til the end of the book. There's quite a bit of sexual tension, but still no real sex. And I'm still hooked. So for what it's worth, I really like this series and this author and can't wait to see what Jaz and her team get up to next!

Biting the Bullet is an awesome read, although it is not as good as the previous book in this series. I love the constant "look but don't touch" relationship of Jaz and Vahl, Rardin gives you just enough to keep you anxious for more. All of the Jaz Parks books have been fast paced and action

packed, to the point you do not realize how fast your reading them.

David was an unexpected surprise in this book. I was very excited about the resolution between David and Jaz, this was a long overdue conclusion to their tragedy and loss. I am very excited to read the next book, and should be starting it today.

This is the third book in the Jaz Parks series. I am still iffy on these books. I like the humor, but some parts such as the musical cords that attach to from her body to those she loves when she's out-of-body just seem so odd. But its enough to keep me interested and wanting to continue the

series. I know there are at least 2 more books out.

forgot about this book until I saw on someone elses list =)This being the first and only book I've read from the series, it was okay. I'm glad I was reminded about it, because after reading this one, I was going to explore the whole series.

This is the 3rd book in the Jaz Parks series by Jennifer Rardin. So far there are 4 books in this series, with the 5th scheduled to come out Jan'09. Overall the latest I read is that there are 8 books planned for the series right now. This was another great book.

over to the middle east to help Jaz's twin brother, Dave, take out a terrorist called the Wizard. Dave has identified a mole in his Special Ops team and it is up to Jaz, Cassandra, Bergman, and Vayl to figure out who the mole is and assassinate the Wizard. There are lots of awesome fight scenes, lots of reavers, and some new baddies. Jaz and Vayl go through a lot of character development both individually and as a pair. A very fast-paced book, the setting in the Middle East is timely and gives incite into the culture there (as if we don't already know a lot about the culture there).

This was a great book. For the most part I think it was executed excellently. I love the characters, I love how they all have histories and interesting personalities. There were a couple of minor irritations in this book. One was Vayl's obsessiveness with the search for his boys, the second is the number of things that are happening at once and how they prevent the story from flowing as well as it could have. These are minor quibbles and overall it was an excellent read.

I am excited to read the next book, but reluctant to read it because then it means I have to wait until the next book is published for more Jaz. I am trying to decide if I should put off reading the next Jaz Parks book so that I can prolong my Jaz-fix :-)

"Biting the Bullet" is the third installment of the Jaz Parks series- and it does not disappoint! Jennifer Rardin really brought an enthralling, thrilling adventure into this book. (Read reviews of the first two books here.) Jasmine (Jaz) and her new crew are sent to Iran to assist Dave's special

ops troop assassinate the Wizard and weed out a mole. Oh- and the Wizard just happens to be one of the most badass terrorists and has eluded entrapment for over 20 years.

Jaz has finally come to terms with her past- but is it too soon to face her twin brother, Dave? Jaz really discovers if she has dealt with her past when it slaps her back in the face. What happens when one of the people that you care about the most becomes an enemy? This book literally makes Jaz focus on some of her personal issues, which is a great addition to the CIA mission. When Vayl sneaks off on his own personal mission with a new Seer, Jaz is also slapped in the face with her own emotions. She may finally realize how much she cares about Vayl, and how much (or how little) he cares about her.

This book was hard for me to put down, I read it in two days. (I probably would have read it in one if I wasn't visiting relatives that weekend!) Rardin delivers a plot twist around every corner with more than enough obstacles to keep Jaz on her toes. I love that each of these books has a single mission that is completed accompanied by sub plots that are stretched over the course of all three. My favorite subplot is the relationship between Vayl and Jaz. They seem to know there is something going on and that they should have taken this relationship to the next step- but there is always something that holds them back.

I was banking on Cassandra and Bergman, but it seems it isn't so in this book... I really don't know who I want with who anymore! Cole and Jaz? Jaz and Vayl? Cassandra and Dave? Bergman and Cassandra? I just can't figure myself out- no wonder the characters have such a hard time making a decision ;o)

This book was really funny. I laughed a lot- the situations, the dialogue between characters... This series is really maturing and becoming addictive. I can't wait to read books 4 - 6.

Jaz, Vayl and the rest of the gang have teamed up with Jaz's twin brother's military unit in Iran on a joint mission to assassinate 'The Wizard', a necromancer and terrorist responsible for death and mayhem across the world. Their mission is complicated by a mole in the special op's unit that

allows the Wizard to sat one step ahead of attempts to stop him. For Jaz, whose relationship with David is complicated by the death of his wife at her hands, the assignment is awkward, made more so by the instant attraction of Cassandra and David, and her growing concern that something isn't quite right. Then there is Vayl, who becomes obsessed by a local mystic who promises to reunite him with his sons in return for being turned, sparking irrational jealousy in Jaz, threatening their partnership. To top it all off, Jaz is marked by a demon bent on vengeance, tormented by creatures that feed on violence and her father is critically injured. This third installment in the Jaz Parks series is an action packed story from the opening firefight with a group of zombies to the astral plane battle for Jaz's soul. There is so much going on that it can get a little chaotic but I feel Rardin manages the various threads well. Even with a busy storyline, Rardin is careful to continue developing her characters. Bergen, who is a surprising inclusion on the mission, is wrestling with his fears and Cassandra has temporarily lost her visions. For Jaz and Vayl's relationship, its two steps forward, ten steps back. This series continues to be a light and fun read, and I look forward to continuing it.

Ok series, but still good

Rardin is getting better with each book in the series. I definitely liked this one the best so far - the mythology continues to deepen and I like that instead of adding tons of new characters with each book we're getting to know the main ones a little better. I'll be interested to see if E. J. pops

up as being important again. Already, I'm about done with the love triangle thing with Cole though - between Jaz and Vayl's pasts and the general issues of human/vamp relationships there are really quite enough complications in place already.

3rd in the Jaz Parks series. This one has Jaz and her team joining forces with her brother and his elite group of special forces soldiers. They are in Terran and are there to take out a terrorist. The problem lies in the fact that her brother's group has a mole that is giving away all the secrets.
So as well as the normal intrigue of searching out a terrorist we also have the issue of finding the mole. Like the others in the series a fast passed action thriller of sorts. Also lots of building on the core group of characters in the series.
