This book is about a very scary thunderstorm. It talks about thunderstorms and how they are made. It also tells you how to tell how far a thunderstorm is from you. It shows fun activities you can do during a thunderstorm. This book would be good for a class learning about thunderstorms.

This book is another excellent early elementary science book from Branley who has written a series of young children's science books. Children have a natural curiosity to learn about the world around them and this book serves that purpose. The book is well illustrated and will lead to many

When a storm comes, you should not be afraid but prepared. Lightening is electricity from the clouds and thunder is the sound waves. When a storm comes stay away from water and metal items that lightening will be attracted it. Also, make sure that if you are caught in a storm that you are not the

This is a great book to use in a weather unit because it throughly explains all the details of how thunder and lightening happen.

I think that this is a great book to read in order to learn about thunderstorms. I like that the illustrator used colorful diagrams to explain weather concepts. for example, he drew a bright orange, yellow, and pink diagram with arrows in order to show how warm air travels up through the clouds.

Although this may be a tough concept to understand, the diagram helps to clarify. I also like that the information was presented in an engaging way. For example, the author gets the reader involved by giving him tips and advice for what to do when a thunderstorm approaches. For example, the author tells readers to count to five after seeing lightning in order to determine how many miles away the storm is. The main idea of this story is that thunderstorms can be dangerous, but people can take precautions in order to ensure their safety during a storm.
