reproductive rights, sexual orientation and the list goes on. Freedman's introductions are astute and help ground each essay. Some themes are recurrent and sometimes repetitive; I was surprised not to see anything about body image, plastic surgery and anorexia; but the global perspective was refreshing and a real learning experience.
