This is a cute story about dinosaurs who are sick, and how they might act. It asks retorical questions about things they might do, like taking medicine, and acting up then goes back through and tells the right thing to do.

In our class we actually had alot of kids out with the flu. During the
Show More
question part of the book I asked the kids if they did any of those things while they were sick, and naturally they all replied no.

As an extension of this book we would go through and say the name of each type of dinosaur on each page.

Summary: This was fantasy because dinosaurs are extinct, but in the book they were going to the doctor and drinking juice and doing any normal thing a human would do. That is just not realistic at all.

Theme: Dinosaurs don’t make a fuss when they’re sick so neither should you! At the end
Show More
dinosaurs listened to their doctors when they were sick, and were good to their parents.

Level: 1st through 3rd Subject: Health

This is a good example of poetry because every word is carefully chosen and there is a specific purpose for writing this way. The reader learns a lesson from the story.

How Do Dinosaurs Get Well Soon is a cute story about asking if dinosaurs get sick, go to the doctor and take their medicine. Yes they do because they want to get well!

I can relate to this book because my son and I are always sick with colds. We go to the dr A LOT!

In the classroom, I could do a
Show More
history lesson on the dinosaurs and ask each student to do a paper on which dinosaur they like best and why. I can also go on a field trip to see a museum about dinosaurs if the school permitted

Review: Dinosaurs do not exist today. They cannot act out like they do in the book or have human parents for that matter. Children love dinosaurs and will believe that they should act like a dinosaur because they have great imaginations.

This book takes you through the different things that happen when you are sick and all the things you should not do and the way you should not act. It then tells of all the things that should be done. All of this is done using a dinosaur as the example with fun play and rhyming that has a wonderful
Show More
flow and gret illistrations.

Dinosaurs get sick too, but do they act out. Do put their tissues on the floor and spit out their medicene? No dinosaurs act very nice when they are sick. They listen to the doctor and do what he says to get better. This book shows children even dinosaurs who are made out to be mean do what it
Show More
takes to get better. It teaches children that they should take their medicene and not act up.

How Do Dinosaurs Get Soon by Jane Yolen is an extremely cute book with vibrant, eye-catching illustrations. The first few pages are a series of questions relating to how you think a dinosaur would act if it is sick. It definitely relates to children because the way that the dinosaurs are acting
Show More
while they are sick is exactly how children would act when they are sick. Every question Yolen asked pertaining to how dinosaurs would act while they are sick, I've seen in real life with my nieces and nephews. If I were to read this book to them, they would LOVE it. They would immediately start giggling and relating to the story it is them and it also rhymes! Who doesn't love a good rhyme?

How Do Dinosaurs Get Well Soon is about a dinosaur who gets sick and how he embarks on his journey. It talks about what he shouldn't do. Then it talks about what he actually does. This can show children how to act when they are sick and what to do and act.

This picture book is a modern fantasy. It asks how we think dinosaurs would behave if they were sick and had to go to the doctor. It tells you all about how a dinosaur might be like if he was sick and how the dinosaur would not be a very good patient. But in the end it shows that dinosaurs are
Show More
great patients and they always listen to their parents. This book would work great for showing kids that if dinosaurs can go to the doctor and listen to their parents when they're sick, then so can they! (Primary level)

this story could be used for teaching young readers that there are ways to communicate with their parents and ways they should not communicate. It could also be used for entertainment because some kids really love dinosaurs. The reading level is 1.9

A very good rhyme scheme. The book is very simplistic but it gets the point that kids need to do these things in order to get well. It shows that things one has to do when they are sick have to be done. Even if they may seem scary or be new. Using dinosaurs is a fun idea. Great lively illustrations

that complement the text.

This story takes you through many scenarios of when you are sick each presented by a different type of dinosaur. This book is good when learning about sickness, and the doctor. Although i believe this book could be used best when learning about different types of dinosaurs. This book was amusing,
Show More
but for educational purposes I'm not really sure it could be used in a lesson because it doesn't seem to focus on one thing.

This book is silly and outrageous, as the characters in the book are dinosaurs who are in the role of young children. Through the storytelling, this book teaches children that bad behavior looks silly, and enforces good behavior when sick. The artwork by Mark Teague is just realistic and detailed
Show More
enough, but yet still colorful and exaggerated.

This is a playful dinosaur tale about a sick dinosaur child who catches the flu and must go to the doctor. Just like kids, little dinosaurs hate being sick. And going to the doctor can be pretty scary. How DO dinosaurs get well soon? They drink lots of juice, and they get lots of rest; they're good
Show More
at the doctor's, 'cause doctors know best.

This book addresses the implications that one might make about the bad behaviors that a dinosaur would have if one were to be sick and have to go to the doctor. The book explains that dinosaurs are well behaved and that is why they get well from their sickness.
