This book tells how Valentines day came about today. It also tells us how different places celebrated in different ways. This is a good book for Valentines day so the students know why exactly it is celebrated.

Thrift store find, because I love Valenti Angelo's work and respect Bulla. I have no idea how accurate this is, or how sanitized for children it might be, given that it's almost 50 yrs old. But it seems reasonable, and is reasonably interesting, and the simply drawn illustrations are charming.
