Five Green and Speckled Frogs is modeled after a well-known song about exactly what the title says - five green and speckled frogs! This book is perfect for early elementary children. It can be used as a story and then a song to sing-a-long to as a class!

This book counts down from five. It counts the green and speckled frogs as they leave the log.

This book is great for counting and the kids will be able to predict what is coming next in the book. I think that this book would be best used in the younger classrooms like Pre-K and Kindergarten because

it deals with counting down from five. Also, the kids will love being able to count with frogs.

Five green and speckled frogs can be used as an interaction book for young children. In this book they learn to count backwards from five without really realizing what they are doing. There is a great song that goes with this story that the children will love and sing all day. It is a fun story to

This book is about five green and speckled frogs that take turns jumping into the pond one day. It is very repeptitive and there is even an early childhood song that this book follows along. I would use it as an early childhood book.

This nursery rhyme helps children learn to count backwards from five to one, and is beautifully illustrated by Constanza Basaluzzo. Five green and speckled frogs sat on a speckled log, eating most delicious bugs. Yum. Yum. One jumped into the pool where it was nice and cool. Now there are four

This book is a fun addition to a classroom or home library, especially as you talk about frogs. Its reverse counting and rhyming structure lends itself easily to a sing-song reading, which is always compelling to young children. The onomatopoeia as the frogs eat bugs adds to the gaiety of the book,

and the simple repetition is a hit with the younger audience. The illustrations are bright and cheerful, with the fun addition of shiny foil inserts on each page for the speckles. I'm not sure how much the kids in my class noticed the latter, but they definitely loved this book!
