Franklin and his friends have a great time getting candy and playing games at the Halloween party. Franklin goes as Franklinstein, and thinks the ghost there is his friend, Bear. When he finds out Bear's home sick, he wonders who the ghost is, but realizes it must be Mr. Owl. Everyone shares a

little bit of candy with Bear; they've had a wonderful night.

I think this book was very good. While it had some scary parts, it also had a great morale of sharing. I think that this book would be perfect to read the day before halloween because that would show the children that if anyone is sick on halloween, that they should consider sharing. I think that

this book is good because it sets a great mood for halloween.

My son came home from school sick today. I thought he might like to cuddle up with mom and read a story. That always seems to help a little.

We read Franklin's Halloween. I had downloaded it from netgalley and wanted to read it with my eight year old. I love to see what they think. I know what I

like in a children's story: great pictures, humor, a lesson, phonetics....etc. Kids mostly want a good story and to see the pictures. I asked him what he thought and he said it was good. I asked him if other kids would like this book and he said "yes." Ok, no elaboration here, but what can I expect? He's laying in his bed with a bowl close by. He did say that his favorite part was they mysterious ghost.

My thoughts are that this book is really cute. I love Franklin. The stories are always well illustrated and have a solid plot. Franklin's dilemma was what to be for Halloween. The fun part was when there was a mystery concerning a ghost. At the end everyone is happy and had a great Halloween. Cute and sweet book that has all of the key elements of a good story. Not too scarey for little ones either.

I definitely recommend this book to sit and cuddle with your favorite trick-or-treater.

I used to love watching Franklin with my youngest kids, and reading the books to them, and they loved it, so when I had my granddaughter over, I thought of this book and hoped that she would like it as much as they did, and I wasn't disappointed. She loved it! She thought the characters were fun

and the way Franklin got so excited for Halloween, trying on different costumes until he found just the right one, reminded her so much of herself. As for me, I love the fact that all the kids (animals) are different from each other, but they accept those differences and love each other all the more because of them. What a great message to send our kids! And the illustrations are always excellent.

Highly recommend: 5/5 stars.

It’s Halloween and Franklin is excited to go to the costume party. Bear is always a ghost, but Franklin’s other friends are keeping their costumes a secret.

What will Franklin wear?

At the costume party, Franklin has fun apple-bobbing and playing pumpkin toss. He even braves the haunted house.

Then he discovers bear is not the ghost at the costume party. Who could it be?

Young readers will delight in Franklin’s Halloween adventure. Colorful pictures accompany the narrative; the story is both predictable and surprising. And there’s a lesson about being a good friend, all wrapped up in a clever tale that is sure to keep the Little Ones laughing.
