A very good, beginner's look into World War II. It covers a great deal about different aspects of the war (The main theaters, volunteers, Red Cross, soldiers, women soldiers, day-to-day life, popular pastimes, etc.). It glosses over the causes of the war (would half a page on WWI really have been

that hard?). The lay-out is nice, alternating between block paragraphs and pictures with "eye-spy" style captions (think: DK eyewitness series). Also...thank you, thank you, thank you for putting the correct picture to "Rosie the Riveter"! Everyone always gets Rosie confused with "We Can Do It."
