Description
This commentary clearly sets forth the message of Luke, beautifully captures Luke's love for the person of Christ, and solidly establishes the ultimate significance of Luke for contemporary Christians. He contributes uniquely to the understanding of Luke through his careful synthesis of scholarship and spiritual insight. One of the most valuable features of this exegesis of Luke is the way in which the author traces -- as Luke himself does -- the progressive self-revelation of Jesus' divine glory up to its full manifestation on the mount of transfiguration, and then follows the successive stages of Jesus' ministry on his way to the cross.

Though now out of print, this volume is worth almost any purchase price. The NICNT committee replaced it in 1997 with another volume by the same name by a Joel Green; the NT series is not yet completed and they are replacing some volumes!
