An analysis of the Pullman's writings, not just the His Dark Materials trilogy, but the Sally Lockhart series and his other books as well. Tucker discusses influences, authorial (especially Milton) and otherwise, on Pullman and there is a brief biography. Not a deeply academic analysis, but still

interesting and worthwhile for any admirer of Pullman.

discusses his works ('His Dark Materials', Sally Lockheart, etc.) . One of the thing that intrigued me was the parallel drawn between Milton's 'Paradise Lost' and 'His Dark Materials'.
The content is very engaging, clear, and gives us a strong insight into the ideas behind the work and the man behind the writer.
